Aqualyd Ltd is led by Dr Gavin Macaulay, who has over 25 years of experience in the use of active underwater acoustics for studying the aquatic environment
Following a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering his research career started at the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, then the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) in New Zealand, followed by 10 years at Norway’s Institute of Marine Research where he worked on the development and application of broadband acoustic techniques for surveys and investigations of marine organism populations.
